Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's athletic talent was apparent from the time she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition, she placed among the top two athletes in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200 meters in a mere 10 weeks. Felix finished her high school year in 2003 and was signed by Adidas an agreement as an athlete in professional competition. Following that, she attended University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic gold medal during the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record running 200 meters for 22.18. The year 2005 was the time she was the world's youngest champion in 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, beating her longtime Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently within the top three in her various races at the Olympics that took place at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
